I wanna just say this video helped me a lot. I went to the doctor for some dizzy spells I was having and they think it is related to anxiety. So I started 10MG 3 days ago and day 1 there were almost no side effects that I could notice. Day 3 though I had the kind of shakes she was talking about and twitches in my body. Dizziness as well and the morning of day 4 dry mouth a little and pretty dang nauseous. But being reassured by her video with the same side effects is helping me a lot. So thank you

Lexapro helped me so much , I have anxiety disorder, I was diagnosed at a young age . I only take meds when I really have too. I really love behavioral modification therapy but when you get thrown off chemically a little to much sometimes you do need extra help. Leaving suffering makes you depressed 😢Anyways 5mg did me fine. After almost a year I’m on half of that now . I believe in taking the lowest dose possible and if it’s helping along with behavior modification, eventually get off . That’s the pattern for me . I haven’t weaned all the way off Lexapro before I’ve been on Paxil before and lived without meds for years. I’m so thankful that we have help for this now a days . Don’t be afraid to try meds if you physically can’t take it anymore , anxiety symptoms ,are no joke .

This medicine has helped me so much . Only side effect I get now is headaches. Suck but it bets feeling awful anxiety. I was on 5mg ,I’m currently taking half because of the headaches.

I get very lethargic on the lexapro

That lexapro dizzy is no joke. I didn’t have it getting on, just when weaning off or when I forgot to take it

None of these AD really work for most ppl. They just mask d original symptoms. There's no LT studies ever done to prove their effectiveness .

I have been on escitalopram 20mg for over a year now, moving from Sertraline. The side effects subsided after a few weeks to a month. Occasionally I have missed a few doses and it was hell. I'm glad it's working for you 20mg definitely works for me. I still get anxious and down but I can control it now with mediation ect

Just started Lexapro (5mg for now) not quite 2 weeks ago. I personally experienced most of these side effects in the first week. First week is a roller coaster. Dry mouth, (not terrible) Hint of nausea early on but that's largely gone. Couple nights where I couldn't go back to sleep easily. 1 night of panic and anxiety. (Knew it was a possibility so just rode it out) Lethargic in the morning during first week. Energy wouldn't hit till noon. That's ended now. No dreams first week. Super vivid dreams 2nd week (I've been a lucid dreamer for years so this doesn't really bother me.) Slight dizziness but not often. Positives: When I think of doing something (Like going out for coffee) I can just do it. Not getting paralyzed with the overthinking. Enjoy social interactions again. Much more productive. Can focus on what I want to do. Almost like I had been given adderall (I've actually never tried adderall but you get the point) Much less irritable You still have emotions but its like there are guardrails up so you don't go too far either way. Almost no negative self talk. I don't completely hate being alive. Overall talk to your doc. I was always scared of meds and I grew up in a house where they were shunned but.I wish I had started this sooner.

Right now it’s day 6 on my Escitalopram 5mg as oxalate is that the same as lexapro? x

I’m a little scared because I’ve been prescribed 20mg and I’ve seen a lot of videos where people couldn’t handle the symptoms of even 10mg and cut those in half to make it a 5mg, which they could handle. My prescription comes tomorrow.

I've taken 5mg for 3 days and I've had crazy migraines and super bad nausea. I don't think I will be taking it anymore. I'm already nauseous because of my post concussion and endometriosis. And apparently with lexapro you can't take any head ache pills. And I need to be migraine less for school.

It's nice to see a positive review of an antidepressant. Most are negative reviews from people who quit becaiuse of side effects without even giving the drug a chance to work, and then they go on an on about how Big Pharma is evil., etc. Like you can take something that will change your metabolism enough to have an antidepressant effect without that somehow giving you side effects. Impossible. I also suffer from severe angst/apprehension/fear, and drugs like this are very helpful to me.

just remember, that if a sensation of extraSadness does not become within 1-2 hours after imbibe escitalopram ..then it is life threatening!

I've been on it for several years 10mg and now 20mg - it is a little jittery for me too. One technique that works for me (ask your doctor!) - is taking it at night. Side effects are way down, maybe it's not as effective - but it works very well for me.

My doctor started me on 30 mg and quickly moved it to 60. I don’t know wtf he was thinking. I was completely fucked up for at least a month. It was great.

Thanks for making this video! I just started using Lexapro yesterday and it is changing my life already. The thirst thing is real, but water is good for you so it's not all bad and my appetite is down, but I could definitely lose some weight. For reference, I have dealt with severe anxiety and depression my entire life (I'm 29) and it wasn't until recently where I realized it wasn't just me and something was up that could actually be fixed. I really wish I would have done this earlier. Don't be afraid to get some help, it's worth it! It's like every moment is like experiencing life for real for the first time, it's wonderful. I am somewhat concerned that without my daily suffering I won't really be the me that I was, but ehh forget that guy :) I hope if anyone else out there like me finds this comment it will help, I think it would have helped me

Only been 3 days and I have more energy and more awareness of my thoughts. They are still there but I feel less debilitated by them. Having the dizziness and shakes. But overall not so bad.
